weekend wrap up.

so can you guess what we did this weekend?
well. suffice it to say that we made dreams come true.
and i don't say that lightly.
he was over the moon happy.

here's a list of both the awkward & awesome things that happened during our adventures.

:: awkward ::

cobe pretending to pee in the middle of walgreens. sounds effects and all. total boy. total. boy.

not celebrating our irish-ness this st. patty's day but instead picking up mexican.

the woman next to us on the train, pointing to the woods we drove past and asking her daughter five hundred times if she could see charlie. i still don't know who charlie is or why he would be in those woods.

:: awesome ::

kyle cleaning up cobe's toys and saying cobe, do you want to help daddy clean up your toys?
cobe lying spread eagle on the floor eating a cookie and saying
nope. you're doing a good job, daddy.

moving finn out of the carrier car seat & into a big one which makes him look little. he's no where near little so i'll take any optical illusions i can get.

scoring a little tykes tug boat sandbox at a garage sale. (thanks, phoebe!)

shooting two rolls of film and loving the results.

delivering an organic bloom framed print to henry's mom & having her tear up.
that makes me love what i do more than anything else.

and to cap it off...

an adorable little girl staring kyle down would have made the awkward list
but when we found out that kyle looks like her daddy who has been deployed for the last four months
it became a dose of perspective.

hope you all had a great weekend too.
and cheers to a good week.

the weekend wrap up

here's a few of my favorite stops
around the ol' www...

gorgeous. green. and functional.

i've been drawn to all things navy lately. and i'm thinking of doing a
'use what you've got + some new throw pillows makeover'.

she's always been one of my favorites
but i think she may have outdone herself with her latest maternity session.

warning: grab the tissues.
this momma is battling cancer and you can read all about her 'choose joy' campaign
on her blog. she's that little dose of inspiration & perspective we all need.
plus, she's super creative and designs kids clothing.

i kind of have a thing for buying really old, ugly stuff off of craig's list,
partially sanding it and then either stuffing it into the garage or throwing a sheet over it
before i eventually donate it.
this company could save my marriage.

and this video if you haven't seen it already.
it's about 30 minutes long, fyi.
but worth it.
i've read the criticism and support of this cause
but i don't think awareness can ever be bad.
remember kids, knowledge is power.

and since no post is complete without a couple of photos
here are some of my little men
from our sleepy, stuffy, sniffly weekend.

henry | St. Petersburg, FL Newborn Photography

i met henry when he was 5 days new.

i love when i sit down with new families
and they immediately tell me about a little detail unique to their baby.
henry's little nose was still squished a bit from being in the belly.
details like that amaze me.
it's always humbling when i photograph a new born
and they immediately curl up into a certain position.
it's obvious that's how they were in utero.
i try to maintain that in my photographs.

but details like a squished nose-
details like that remind us of how incredible new life is.
and henry is particularly incredible.
